Description
The time has come for industrial independence, particularly in terms of electronic components. An ambitious plan is underway in Europe that encompasses the design of microchips and their production and distribution. This cross-disciplinary sector is key to the success of both the digital revolution and the energy transition. It combines a large number of disciplines: patent holders, champions of research, smelters and engravers; the interactions are numerous and they require the subject to be tackled head on. What ambitious global vision is there within the geopolitical context? What actions and initiatives should be undertaken in the national and European domains to make the sector stronger and more competitive? What are the impacts for the companies in the sector? Which research-company relationships should be prioritised?Towards sovereign European electronics industries
